Platform

Sistemic have developed an enabling platform SistemRNA™, which profiles microRNA expression and utilises in-house customised algorithms to analyse the microRNA changes produced when a cell is perturbed by a stimulus. This creates models/clusters of microRNA that define the phenotypic response. The microRNA response is a reproducible and robust marker that defines the biological interaction between the cell and the environment. Beneficially, microRNA profiling monitors pathway control of the entire biological system of the cell in a single assay. Data is kept to a minimum whereas knowledge is greatly enhanced allowing more appropriate decisions to be taken.

SistemRNA™ is the enabling platform tehnology which flows through our services and kits. SistemRNA™ analysis, captures the dynamice response of all the cellular pathways as well as their interactions, giving enhanced clarity without data overload. This simplistic yet highly informative approach delivers robust fundamental biological understanding enabling key decision making throughout the research process. It can be used to elucidate previously unknown mechanisms of action, expedite lead selection, sensitively measure time/concentration effects and identity On/Off target effects including discovery of novel targets. It uses a compound-centric approach identifying drug effects by associative changes in microRNA expression profiles and their analysis in context.

SistemQC™ offers a simplified platform to characterise and monitor the maintenance of cell lines, including stem cells, across passages or the staging of stem cell directed differentiation. SistemQC™ includes the added option of understanding the likely biological significance of the microRNA alterations uncovered during the testing process.
